Printer Cannot Print A3 (Print Blank)

3 Things Causes this Problem

  1. improper stettings of paper size.
  2. dirty line sensor,(sensor with light)also called media sensor located on the right side of the catridge carriage unit,clean it from the from downside ,(from the point where light comes) with a cotton bud.
  3. faulty flex cable ,connected from logic board to catridge carriage unit.

Unable to Print with Brother Printer

Alternately, a possible workaround is trick the machine that the purge unit has been replaced/cleaned:

  • power off the MFC-665CW and unplug;
  • press and hold the Menu button while plugging back in;
  • release only when all the LED indicators are flashing;
  • this is the Maintenance Mode;
  • press 8, 0;
  • press Black (Start) a couple of times to display “purge: xxxx”;
  • press 2, 7, 8, 3. This would reset the purge counter;
  • display should now be “purge:0000”;
  • press the Stop/Exit button.
  • press 9, 9 to exit the maintenance mode.

In some versions, "purge" is worded as "flush". A worst case scenario is a faulty traverse motor / mechanism fault. This is responsible for moving the printheads along with its carriage left to right. A fault would not park the carriage properly and therefore self-clean could not be initiated.

How to Remove the top cover of Toshiba Satellite M305 or M305D Laptop

In the following guide I will be removing the top cover from a Toshiba Satellite M305 laptop, so I can access and replace the video cable.

In order to remove the top cover, it's not necessary to remove the hard drive, memory, DVD drive as I show in steps 1-5. I'm doing it just to explain how you can access these parts if you need to replace them.

The actual top cover removal process starts at the step 6.

STEP 1
Remove battery
>Turn off the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery.
>Remove five screws securing the hard drive and memory covers.
>Remove both covers.

STEP 2
Access hard drive, memory, wireless card, modem
>Under these covers you'll find the hard drive, modem card, wireless card and two memory modules.

STEP 3
Remove laptop hard drive
>In order to remove the hard drive, simply slide it to the left side and lift up.

STEP 4
Remove laptop memory
>In order to remove the memory module, spread latches on both side of the module and when it pops up, carefully pull the module from the slot by the edges.

STEP 5
Remove laptop DVD drive
>Remove one screw securing the DVD drive to the laptop base and push the drive with a screwdriver.
>Pull the DVD drive from the laptop.

STEP 6
Remove screws from bottom
>Now remove the top cover. Again, it's not necessary to go through steps 1-5.
>Remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop.

STEP 7
Lift up keyboard bezel
>Insert a small flathead screwdriver under the keyboard bezel and lift it up.
