MSI Shows Off GX680 Model with 16GB of RAM

MSI thinks you need more RAM. Not satisfied with your 4GB or 8GB model? Step up to the plate and fork over a fistful of cash for MSI’s new GX680 laptop and you’ll get up to 16GB of DDR3. That’s right, 16GB.

But it’s not all about the RAM (just mostly). This new portable gaming machine from MSI also boasts an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor and NVIDIA’s newest darling the GeForce GT 555M graphics card. That’s the card that rocks the 1GB of GDDR5 memory in case you think you need more RAM.

The 15.6 inch PC displays full 1080p HD graphics (as it should with those spec’s) and comes with dual hard drives each packing 750GB. In addition, you can choose to upgrade to a Blu-ray drive and THX certified audio if you so choose.

This machine is definitely a little much for an average or even casual user but for a hardcore gamer that doesn’t like being locked down to their desktop, this model will give you all the power you need in a package that’s ostensibly portable. Plus it has the cool glowing lights that every 80’s movie geared us to expect from the future.
